When I do all of my Christmas shopping, I usually do one of two things: order on AmazonPrime (occasionally the week before Christmas…what did I do before Prime!?) or make purchases from local stores, Etsy shops or small businesses. I’m a big fan of the latter, and of encouraging other people to do the latter, especially if it means supporting my super talented sister, Liz!
Liz studied fashion design at the Savanah College of Art and Design (SCAD), and is now running her own awesome handbag and leather goods company, Liz Riden. (Definitely check out her full website!) I’m sure I’ll be sharing a ton more about her products and company in the future, but for now, I wanted to quickly post about her exciting latest venture: Liz Riden & Co.
Downtown Lancaster (PA) does a really neat holiday shopping “pop-up park,” allowing businesses to open temporary retail spaces from Black Friday until Christmas. In addition to running her own line, Liz has often talked about opening a store, so that’s just what she did for this month! She cultivated tons of really great products for the shop – jewelry, soaps, candles, mugs, prints, stationery, etc. – all from other local makers and similar small businesses. (You can see the list of other brands represented on her site here.)
If you’re in the Lancaster, PA area, be sure to stop in and check it out at 118 N. Prince Street, Lancaster, PA 17602. (Open Fridays and Saturdays 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sundays 12-5 p.m.).
Look for Pumba’s picture on the wall too! 😉
