A word to the wise/any current or future bloggers/anyone who makes poor decisions like I occasionally do: if you’ve been thinking about transferring your blog from Blogger to WordPress, 10:30 p.m. on a Thursday night on a whim is probably not the best time to do it…contrary to what I seemed to think, whole new blog hosts and layouts do not magically happen overnight…
So hopefully, if you’re reading this post any time after say March 2017, you’re reading it on a beautifully designed WordPress site (without an overwhelmingly large picture of my face next to the post!) and this part of the post is irrelevant. However, if you’re reading it right now on February 2, 2017, you’re reading it on a haphazard, partially designed WordPress site as I spend a little bit of time every night fumbling through the CSS code and edits that I want to make to get the site up to par…
If you’re a good, legitimate blogger, you should probably refrain from new posts while your blog is still in shambles, but I’ve never been particularly good at this blogging thing so it’s onward with the new posts anyway!
We’re already into week four of the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) here in Wellington, and it’s about time I start getting things up to speed as season is the most wonderful blogging time of the year! 🙂
I’ve pulled some of my favorite photos that I’ve shot to give some highlights from the first three weeks of the season! Get ready to scrollllll, as highlights include the following:
WEF 1
- I enjoyed my first hack through Grand Prix Village of the season.
- The horse show kicked off with the annual opening press conference.
- I discovered the wonderful perks of my new(ish) job, including an abundance of omelettes and breakfast options.
- The girls bested the boys in the eighth annual Battle of the Sexes.
WEF 2
- The Hollow Creek Farm Under 25 series kicked off (with back-to-back wins for Lillie Keenan)!
- I was reminded how much I love Florida sunsets in the winter.
- My boyfriend, Justin, came to visit, and I was so focused on enjoying the time together that I didn’t take a single photo of us!
WEF 3
- Pumba learned how to be a horse show dog and has been spending almost every day in the press room since.
- Eric Lamaze won all the things, including the $35,000 WEF Challenge Cup on Thursday riding Houston and the $130,000 Adequan Grand Prix on Saturday riding Fine Lady 5.
- I tagged along to Artisan Farms to meet Tripple X III during his photo shoot for The Chronicle of the Horse’s “Behind Stall Doors.”
Now I can’t believe we’re already almost a third of the way through the season with WEF 4…which also includes the Palm Beach Masters, the Great Charity Challenge, the $100,000 Wellington Eventing Showcase and my friends Diana and Courtlyn visiting…so clearly much more to come! 🙂
